What is Vermeil: Vermeil is a quality product that consists of a base of solid sterling silver coated on all significant surfaces with a gold alloy of not less than 10 karat fineness and is at least 2.5 micrometers thick. Vermeil is a wonderful alternative to solid 14K. Still offering the warm hues of gold along with a high-quality coating. Standard "plating" is between 0.5-1 micrometers.
